The glycolic based extracts widely used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products are divided in two different categories: the glycolic extracts and the hydro-glycolic extracts. Despite both of them having the same applications and have been using for producing the same products, there is a large difference between them, which results in differences in terms of composition and performance.
- Hydro-glycolic extracts (HG): these extracts are extracted with propylene or butylene-glycol and water. Water is added in a significant amount to the products (i.e. these products are diluted with water) in the final steps of production. As water is present in a significant concentration, and it inhibits the natural preservative properties of glycols and makes necessary the addition of preservatives to assure the stability and validity of this products (specially concerned about microbiological control)
- Seiva Brazilis’s glycolic extracts: the production of Seiva Brazilis’s extracts is carried without the addition of water. Therefore, the natural preservative properties of glycols are maintained. The water present on our extracts comes from the plants used in the process (it means, the natural water contained by the plants). For this reason there is no necessity of addition of any kind of preservatives, which results in a much more natural product.
To assure the highest quality and offer the best products, Seiva Brazilis is constantly improving the processes. The application tests and active dosing tests are made by internationally recognized laboratories, AND OUR PRODUCTS ARE NOT TESTED IN ANIMALS.
